    <Content>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;A &amp;ndash; Knowledge &amp;amp; Understanding&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;By the end of the module the student will be able to:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;A1 &amp;ndash; Demonstrate an understanding of points which are important in the history and examination of the patient with musculoskeletal disease.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;A2 &amp;ndash; Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the various investigations (and their interpretation) which inform the assessment of the patient with musculoskeletal disease including (but not confined to) radiological investigations and electrophysiology&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;A3 &amp;ndash; Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of how to assess disease activity and severity in musculoskeletal disease&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;A4 &amp;ndash; Demonstrate an understanding of the roles of the different members of the musculoskeletal multidisciplinary team including (but not confined to) the physiotherapist, podiatrist and occupational therapist.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;A5 &amp;ndash; Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the principles of drug treatment and of surgical treatment in the patient with musculoskeletal disease.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;strong&gt;B - Intellectual Skills&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;By the end of the module the student will be able to:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;B1 &amp;ndash; Synthesize and evaluate the different elements of the history, examination and investigation results which will inform the management plan in patients with musculoskeletal disease.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;B2 &amp;ndash; Discuss the principles of management plans in patients with different musculoskeletal diseases specifically the inter-related roles of rheumatologist, orthopaedic surgeon and members of professions allied to medicine.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;C Practical Skills&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;By the end of the module the student will be able to:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;C1 &amp;ndash; Take a comprehensive history from a patient presenting with musculoskeletal disease&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;C2 &amp;ndash; Examine the musculoskeletal system and&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;accurately report findings&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;C3 &amp;ndash; Competently assess a patient presenting with musculoskeletal problems, and form a differential diagnosis, investigation and management plan.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;C4 &amp;ndash; Work with other members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver the management plan.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;D &amp;ndash; Transferable Skills&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;D1 &amp;ndash; Give oral presentations to peer and specialist audiences.&lt;/p&gt;</Content>

    <Content>&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div class="PSEDITBOX" style="width: 100%; vertical-align: top; padding-bottom: 1px; padding-top: 1px; padding-left: 1px; margin: 0px; min-height: 50px; padding-right: 1px"&gt;	&lt;p&gt;Feedback is&amp;nbsp;an essential aspect of how the unit is organised and is a two way process.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Students&amp;#39; progress&amp;nbsp;during&amp;nbsp;this course unit&amp;nbsp;is monitored by the module co-ordinator, and in the case of project work, by the project supervisor.&amp;nbsp; Issues of concern relating to progress are&amp;nbsp;discussed with the Programme Director and with other members of the academic staff as appropriate.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Students will be asked to complete a feedback questionnaire on this course unit, the aim of which is to provide feedback for the module co-ordinators. This feedback is taken into account when preparing the following year&amp;#39;s programme.&amp;nbsp; In addition, students are also asked by the University to complete a unit evaluation questionnaire.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Students are informed of their examination results in writing or by e-mail in accordance with the University&amp;#39;s central Feedback policy. Students have the opportunity&amp;nbsp;to discuss their&amp;nbsp;examination results with the co-ordinator of this course unit.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;A student representative is appointed at the beginning of the programme each year. One of their roles is to ensure that the views of students are relayed to the teachers and organisers of the programme. He/she&amp;nbsp;will attend the meetings of the Programme Teaching Committee which take place every two months.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;The student representative also meets with the co-ordinator of each module at the beginning and end of each module to discuss student related issues.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</Content>
