BMAN73102 Sustainability and Social Responsibility 15 Semester 2 Postgraduate Taught Level 7 Anna Krull Unit coordinator 1 FHEQ level (Framework for Higher Education Qualifications) ' Masters/Integrated Masters P4 ' European Credit Transfer & Accumulation System Rating : 7.5 This unit enhances students’ understanding of sustainability and social responsibility in a management context, by analysing and developing sustainable business models and the transition to a net-zero economy. The unit analyses how companies can contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. It considers sustainability strategies and entrepreneurship in different empirical contexts, such as renewable energy, electric vehicles, and the circular economy. The aim of the unit is:<ol> <li>to introduce students to the main concepts of, and barriers to, creating change towards sustainable development and social responsibility in a complex world, </li> <li>to equip students with tools to promote sustainability in a business context, and</li> <li>to develop professional skills in students.</li></ol> Knowledge and understanding<ul> <li>Identify the characteristics of sustainable and socially responsible organisations</li> <li>Demonstrate understanding of key aspects of change towards sustainable development, including identifying and balancing social, environmental and economic considerations</li> <li>Consider the various business models which might be adopted to support social, environmental and economic sustainability</li> <li>Consider the role of entrepreneurship in promoting sustainable and responsible companies</li> <li>Look at co-operation between firms, governments and NGOs and see how collaborative working helps meet the Sustainable Development Goals</li> <li>Introduce practical tools and techniques used to evaluate and promote sustainability</li></ul>Intellectual skills<ul> <li>Learn how to apply practical tools and concepts through the analysis of case studies and project work</li></ul> 0 Other 100% Team Project assignments - 30% Individual assignment - 70% Peer Assessment for Group Work  Please note we will use a formal peer assessment process for the group work assessment.
