<p>The course unit will focus on the common law approach to Contract Law and the Law of Tort.</p>
<p style="margin-left:5.7pt;">This course unit will examine how the law operates to ensure coherence, fairness and efficiency in the conduct of business, and will give the international context and commercial status of these two major areas of business law.<br /><br />Students will study the interaction between various principles of business law, current issues in the business world, case studies and learn how to apply legal rules to real and hypothetical problems.</p><p style="margin-left:5.7pt;"> </p>
<p>On completion of this course unit students should be able to: <br />Understand, recognise and apply fundamental principles of business law. <br />Identify legal risk and avoid liability where possible, and be able to work in a business law context. <br />Analyse legal trends and assess their importance for business strategy. <br />Locate and update information from a variety of specialist sources in a fast moving legal area.</p>
