<Aims Applicant="Y" Label="Aims" Student="Y">

 The aim of this course is to introduce students to strategic aspects of managing a multinational enterprise (MNE) in an international context. The course emphasizes the development of skills to understand and analyse (i) the issues that firms face in operating in international markets and supply chains, and (ii) the emergence and development of business and corporate level international business strategy.

 To consolidate theories related to internationalisation and business strategy by applying them to practical cases of major international companies. The course is primarily concerned with the higher, strategic level of management decision making in multinational companies in the wider context of globalisation and outsourcing. It also considers the socio-economic implications of International Business strategy and issues surrounding corporate social responsibility.

 To enhance transferable skills including group work skills; the ability to assess different management policy choice options in a situation of strategic interdependence; and the ability to work in (case-study) teams and to present collective analysis effectively.
