It takes a business-focused approach, examining how digital technologies are used to support strategy, decision-making, and organisational change. Students explore both core and emerging digital technologies (such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing), alongside key issues in data management, business intelligence, enterprise applications, digital security, and the broader societal, environmental, and ethical implications of digital technologies. By the end of the unit, students will have a critical and practical understanding of digital technologies in business, enabling them to evaluate the strategic alignment of technological capabilities with organisational objectives.
