    <Content>&lt;p style="margin-left: 5.7pt"&gt;&lt;em&gt;On the successful completion of the course, students will be able to: &lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;	&lt;li&gt;		Quantify risk, describe mitigation strategies and their impact on residual risk and uncertainty, within the context of field development&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;ul&gt;	&lt;li&gt;		Conduct a Value of Information exercise in order to justify a subsurface data collection programme&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;ul&gt;	&lt;li&gt;		Describe the different types of porosity in sandstones and carbonate rocks and their genesis, from deposition and during diagenesis&lt;/li&gt;	&lt;li&gt;		&lt;p&gt;Define the main types of clay minerals, their origin and morphology and how they might result in formation damage during production&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;	&lt;li&gt;		&lt;p&gt;Describe which elements are measured by the spectral gamma ray tool and how this data can be used to refine Vshale analysis in radioactive sandstones, and determine sediment provenance&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;	&lt;li&gt;		&lt;p&gt;Conduct shaley-sand analysis using Vshale and cation exchange capacity, and explain why this can increase the calculated volume of in place hydrocarbons&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;	&lt;li&gt;		&lt;p&gt;Describe how borehole image logs and NMR logs work, and how they can be used for reservoir characterisation in uncored wells&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;	&lt;li&gt;		&lt;p&gt;Explain how rock type and pore structure influence rock physical properties, and how this data is used to calculate porosity from acoustic data, particularly seismic data&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;</Content>
