Professionals selecting, commissioning or executing such resource projects need to be aware of a range of issues in order to make robust objective decisions. This unit will illustrate these concepts using examples of constraints, strategies and technologies via representative case studies from the petroleum, minerals, aggregates or water sectors. The unit will integrate knowledge of mineral deposits, petroleum geology, geophysics, remote sensing, structural geology, and introduces students to project evaluation, risk analysis, and the environmental and human impacts of resource projects.
