By the end of the course students who have studied successfully will have demonstrated that they have:<ul> <li>the ability to formulate an appropriate research project</li> <li>experience of using information technology as a research resource</li> <li>experience of writing a Research Project using appropriate information    technology</li> <li>appropriate knowledge of software packages: e.g. Excel, Stata, Eviews, R, Gretl</li> <li>used basic statistical and graphical techniques to explore and analyse the appropriate data</li> <li>had experience of accessing such data from public sources</li> <li>clearly demonstrated appropriate use of library and other appropriate resources.</li></ul>  Formal Lectures using PowerPoint or OHP depending on availability.
