EDUC62771 Research Skills in Practice (ELiP) 30 Semester 2 Postgraduate Taught Level 6 Laura Goodfellow Unit coordinator 1 FHEQ level (Framework for Higher Education Qualifications) ' Masters/Integrated Masters P4 ' European Credit Transfer & Accumulation System Rating : 15.0 This unit is designed and developed by University of Manchester Worldwide (UMW) to offer a structured alternative to the traditional research project/dissertation model and will be offered to Schools in a generic form that can be populated with specific content (e.g. links, reading material, discipline specific examples) allowing “plug & play”. Adaptation of the course unit for each course and ongoing development of the unit will be supported by UMW.  Delivery of the unit within a course will be the responsibility of the School, although a Research Skills User group will be formed to provide training and support.The unit is comprised of 3 x 10 credit modules. Each module will typically take 4 weeks to complete, although if appropriate students may progress more quickly or slowly than this if desired.  The three modules comprise:1. Identify and formulate a current issue in the relevant academic discipline or professional practice.  2. Conduct a methodological analysis of the issue and its solution3. This generic content is supplemented with specific content for each individual course.  The unit will be delivered in a hybrid mode.  A day at the MA: ELIP course conference (5 hours) will be allocated to it, plus three further 2-hour webinars (one for each module) as well as a variety of online learning and teaching processes; including short videos, directed reading, quizzes/self assessments, discussion boards, group sessions, wikis and podcasts.The structure of the modules will be consistent between modules and between courses with specific content being placed into the UMW generic template as appropriate.  0 Other 100% <figure class="table"><table><tbody><tr><td>Module 1.
