MATS38000 Study Abroad 120 Full year Undergraduate Level 6 Paul Cowell Unit coordinator Department of Materials 1 FHEQ level (Framework for Higher Education Qualifications) ' Last part of a Bachelors ' European Credit Transfer & Accumulation System Rating : 60.0 The unit builds on students’ understanding of fashion and textiles theory and the examples given in lectures, allowing students to apply these to a different cultural learning experience. The transferable skills and personal qualities needed to function in an organisation/ host country <div> </div>  Students will enrol and attend classes worth the equivalent of 120 credits at a host University overseas. The award of credits from the host University assessments will be based on a grade conversion using the weighted average of the overall marks for the year.Blackboard will be used for communication with staff at UoM, provision of information and assessment. The unit coordinator will utilise Blackboard to access coursework. Pastoral care will be maintained with students.General assistance throughout the unit includes:• The provision of comprehensive unit information via Blackboard (unit handbook, documents,podcasts, etc.)• An opportunity for students to communicate with the unit coordinator/academic advisor by email, telephone, Zoom or visits throughout the placement year.Transferable skills including cultural awareness and communication will be developed in this unit.
