The unit provides the student with the opportunity to study and research in-depth an international fashion retail/marketing topic.The student will gather secondary and/or primary data and analyse these and provide recommendations for future research and also for research implications and applications in the fashion retail industry.Please note: This course unit detail provides the framework for delivery in 20/21 and may be subject to change due to any additional Covid-19 impact.  Please see Blackboard / course unit related emails for any further updates.  <ul><li>To provide students with an understanding of the process of research in the international fashion marketing area</li><li>To provide students with experience of the research process including literature reviews and primary data collection and analysis.</li></ul> A greater depth of the learning outcomes will be covered in the following sections:• Knowledge and understanding• Intellectual skills• Practical skills• Transferable skills and personal qualities <ul><li>Identify and define the main components of the relevant literature pertinent to the dissertation topic</li><li>Explore and critically evaluate the internal and external influences on consumer behaviour</li><li>Identify and critically evaluate assumptions identified with theories of  relevant to the dissertation topic</li><li>Apply a knowledge of the literature review and the resulting primary data analysis to commercial practice</li></ul> <ul><li>Demonstrate skills necessary to interpret, analyse and draw conclusions from analysis of journal articles in the unit specific subject area</li><li>Communicate effectively the interpretation of, and conclusions to be drawn from, the results of analysis of unit specific literature reviews.</li></ul> <ul><li>Write a cogent literature review report.</li><li>Write a cogent data analysis section</li><li>Write a cogent research implications section of the dissertation</li></ul> <ul> <li>Solve unit problems;</li> <li>Demonstrate strategic analytical skills</li></ul> <div>This unit is delivered by individual student work (normally 900 hours) and supported by a number of dissertation workshops, dissertation surgeries and individual supervisions. Dissertation workshops, dissertation surgeries, individual dissertation supervisions together with MATS67101 Research Methods should guide students through dissertation project.</div>  4 Dissertation 100% Feedback given and verbally and written.Summative feedback will be provided after the exam board in late November 2021.
