    <Content>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:12px;"&gt;This unit explores the complexities of international fashion retail management. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:12px;"&gt;The retail landscape has undergone significant changes in recent years with digital channels becoming increasingly dominant. Fashion businesses face unique challenges and have opportunities in managing the intricacies of global sourcing in order to respond to the consumer and provide the desired consumer journey and customer experience. Fashion businesses need to co-ordinate both product supply and consumer demand across a number of channels and geographical locations, and ensure that they work together effectively. This unit will introduce you to the retail buying and merchandising cycle, global sourcing, logistics and omni-channel distribution. It explores how commercial practices are optimised for sustainable competitive advantage and can be integrated within marketing strategies to build strong customer relationships. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:12px;"&gt;The emphasis of this unit will be on developing a holistic perspective from which to view the retail environment and retail strategy, and also on providing the analytical tools to evaluate factors in the environment, both at this point in time and also into the future as the retail industry evolves and changes.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:12px;"&gt;This handbook should be read in conjunction with the Department of Materials Postgraduate Programmes Handbook which can be found on the School Intranet. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:12px;"&gt;(&lt;a href="http://intranet.materials.manchester.ac.uk" style="font-family:&amp;quot;Times New Roman&amp;quot;,serif; color:blue; text-decoration:underline"&gt;http://intranet.materials.manchester.ac.uk&lt;/a&gt;).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</Content>
