<p>This unit will equip students with knowledge and understanding of the pathophysiology, clinical presentation and investigation of a range of immunodeficiencies and the principles and practice of immunotherapy. Students will become familiar with methods and strategies to investigate immunodeficiency and gain experience of the interpretation of patient results using a variety of clinical scenarios. </p>
<p>This unit will equip students with knowledge and understanding of the pathophysiology, clinical presentation and investigation of a range of immunodeficiencies and the principles and practice of immunotherapy. Students will become familiar with methods and strategies to investigate immunodeficiency and gain experience of the interpretation of patient results using a variety of clinical scenarios.</p>
<p>This unit aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the causes of immunodeficiency by becoming familiar with the immune pathology and diagnostic strategies for a range of immune deficiency conditions that affect different arms of the immune system. In parallel, students will develop an understanding of the use of immunotherapies used to either enhance or inhibit the immune system linked to the condition that they are designed to treat.</p>
