Projects may involve original research, NHS service development, method verification/validation, or clinical audit. All projects must demonstrate academic rigour, relevance to clinical science, and alignment with the NHS STP curriculum.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The research is typically carried out in the trainee’s NHS host laboratory, with day-to-day supervision provided by an NHS clinical scientist. Academic oversight is provided by the University of Manchester to ensure MSc-level standards are met.
