    <Content>&lt;p&gt;Students will carry out a project and write a report/dissertation under supervision. Majority of projects are expected to be on a clinically relevant topic, have a quality improvement focus or be relevant to medical education. &amp;nbsp;Students will be required to identify research questions, develop the design of a research project and experimental protocol (where applicable), carry out the research, collect and analyse data and then write up the project. All students will also be required to deliver an oral presentation.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The nature of projects offered will reflect research interests of staff and clinical providers. For the majority of candidate this will take the form of quality and evidence, clinical audit or systematic review based research.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Submission in another format may be permitted by prior approval by the Academic Lead for Assessment (publication, NHS policy documentation etc.).&lt;/p&gt;</Content>

Including demonstrating effective search strategies to obtain clinical relevant evidence and the use of a ‘PICO’ strategy to formulate questions&lt;br/&gt;• Provide experience of conducting independent research, audit or quality improvement activities.&lt;br/&gt;• Examine the extent to which the student has achieved relevant skills and knowledge (via a dissertation and oral presentation of the research topic).&lt;br/&gt;• Provide a framework for understanding different research designs and allow students to relate them to strength of clinical evidence.&lt;br/&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</Content>

    <Content>&lt;p&gt;The unit offers a flexible approach to T&amp;amp;L processes depending on the nature of each project. All students will receive supervision as a group and 1:1 mentoring during the planning, execution and write-up of the project. They are encouraged to attend relevant seminars and will receive support with academic writing and presentation skills. Progress through each key stage of the project is monitored by the supervisor and Academic Lead for Assessment (where appropriate).&lt;/p&gt;</Content>

    <Content>&lt;p&gt;Dissertations available across a range of relevant disciplines, the majority are expected to be clinical or educational and directly related to current and future practice for physician associates. However, research and literature based (e.g. systematic review) work may be undertaken in other disciplines according to supervisor experience and student preferences. The bulk of reading will be drawn from the primary literature for each project and therefore it is difficult to produce an indicative reading list for all projects. We will refer students to relevant texts for their project (e.g. review articles, statistics, presentation skills etc.).
