<div> You will be introduced to values and ethos of working in the NHS and living in the UK as a doctor. Therefore, you will spend time learning and thinking about health and social care systems in the UK. You will explore cultural, religious and social beliefs. </div><div> </div><div> You will critically appraise health regulation and policy; public health and social care and you will be supported to discuss and reflect on your own values and how these apply in the context of the NHS and key differences between the UK and other health care systems. </div><div> </div><div> You will learn about the NHS and its history, how it was developed and evolved, the political context which led to its development and discuss the challenges facing the NHS now. You will analyse the differences between the UK healthcare system and that of the system you have been trained in previously. You will use this analysis to determine how the needs and expectations of patients differ between the two systems and the influence this has on your role as a doctor working within the UK.</div><div> </div><div> You will take part in practical learning designed to demonstrate an understanding of how NHS patient-centredness principles are applied to consultation skills and prescribing; through experiential learning and simulation. </div><div> </div>
