    <Content>&lt;P&gt;' To develop an appreciation of the historical development of the training and development function and the changing roles and responsibilities of the organization, specialists, line managers and the individual learner in the training and development process.&lt;BR&gt;- To develop an understanding of the relationship between corporate strategy and training and development strategy, and of how training and development strategy, policy, plans and activities can be generated.&lt;BR&gt;- To develop an understanding of the various 'organizational learning systems' or models of planned learning which can be applied in the workplace.&lt;BR&gt;- To provide a knowledge of the techniques available to the trainer for the analysis of training needs; for the planning, design, delivery and evaluation of training; and for effective learning transfer.&lt;BR&gt;- To develop an understanding of the development process at the levels of the individual, the team and the organization.&lt;BR&gt;- To identify anticipated trends within the training and development function and their implications for the role of Training and Development practitioners.&lt;/P&gt;</Content>

    <Content>&lt;P&gt;On completion of this course unit students should be able to:&lt;BR&gt;- Describe the historical development of the training and development function and the changing roles and responsibilities of the organization, specialists, line managers and individual learners in the training and development process&lt;BR&gt;- Describe the relationship between corporate strategy and training and development strategy and describe the variety of ways in which training and development strategy, policy, plans and activities can be generated.&lt;BR&gt;- Outline the range of 'organizational learning systems' which can be applied in the workplace. &lt;BR&gt;- Describe how to undertake a training or development needs analysis, and how to plan, design, deliver, and evaluate training and development activities.&lt;BR&gt;- Explain the importance of training transfer and describe how learning can be effectively transferred into the workplace.&lt;BR&gt;- Outline the variety of development approaches which might be used at individual, team and organizational level &lt;BR&gt;- Describe anticipated future trends within the training and development function, and explain how Training and Development practitioners might prepare themselves for the future.&lt;/P&gt;</Content>
