    <Content>&lt;p&gt;Whether in public, private or non-governmental organisation (NGO) sector, organisations spend huge amounts of capital on IS investment. Such heavy reliance and investment in IS have increased the need and importance of managing IS effectively. This module looks at some key concepts regarding the process of IS development and the issues important to successfully introducing an IS in an organisation (though the lessons here apply equally to introducing an IS for group or community use, and apply equally whatever the specific terminology used &amp;ndash; m-government, e-commerce, social media, etc &amp;ndash; for the project).&lt;/p&gt;</Content>

    <Content>&lt;p&gt;Each face-to-face 3-hr lecture session includes lecture presentation, case study material, student group activities and exercises, and group discussion. Tutorials are optional and provide further practical exercises and case studies. Additionally, students are expected to engage with e-learning materials provided via VLE to support learning. These include lecture slides and exercises, extensive session notes, model solutions to exercises, links to research papers and websites, etc.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt;The course is highly participative, encouraging students to share knowledge and experience. It is also practical, encouraging students to apply tools, techniques and theory to real-world case studies, with a particular emphasis on developing country contexts.&lt;/p&gt;</Content>
