The Unit is very practical.<br />&nbsp;</p> <p>Content:<br />- Databases and database technologies.<br />- Programming languages.<br />- Internet and Web technologies.<br />- Other development-related ICT issues: free and open source software / network technologies.<br />- Individual presentations.</p> <p>The course aims to provide students with the theoretical and practical overview of methodologies used by organisations in the operational management of IT projects. The course focuses on the development of a critical / academic awareness of the key concepts and the implementation.</p><p>Participants are provided with a foundational understanding of the key information and communication technologies (ICTs) that support change in organisations.</p><p>This module aims to evaluate the information technology used in the development of information systems to be implemented in developing/transitional country organisations.</p><p>You will be introduced to both structured and Agile methodologies used in the implementation of systems.</p> <p>Explain conceptualisation of practical systems design in the context of management framework.</p> <p>Critically evaluate the theory and practice in relation to the use of frameworks</p> <p>Work collaboratively with others to create an ICT based presentation.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</p> <p>Capacity&nbsp; to think critically, take responsibility for own learning.</p><p>Effectively manage complex information sources and to review, evaluate and analyse different forms of literature.</p><p>Present arguments in both written and oral format.</p> <p>The course is designed to provide 9 lecturers in total. Each lecture allows the study fellows to consider technologies and management frameworks which are key to organisations deployment of information systems. Each face-to-face 3-hr lecture session includes lecture presentation, case study material, student group activities and practical exercises at a computer, and some group discussion.
