Car T Cell Therapy is a new and potentially revolutionary development in the treatment of Haematological cancers.

The Christie Hospital N.H.S. Trust, a leading Cancer Centre of excellence and with whom we have a collaborative partnership has been licensed to deliver this type of treatment.

Other Cancer centres in the U.K. are applying for licenses to use this treatment (e.g. Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffield, and London) and so there is a need for C.P.D. education to support this type of care delivery nationally as well as locally.

The therapy is also currently being trialled in the solid tumour group and therefore moving forward there is a potentially large future market which will require education to understand the principles of this type of therapy and how to manage the toxicities which can arise from its use.

The design of the 5 credit unit / 2 study day deliveries facilitates release of staff and can be used in conjunction with other 5 credit units in development to from a 15 credit portfolio to feed into existing P.G. Masters programmes.
