Additionally, students will develop, rehearse, and improve communication skills with colleagues and individuals across all stages of life, addressing various physical, cognitive, and behavioural health challenges. Furthermore, they will be introduced to the fundamental skills required for the safe administration of medicines.     <Content>&lt;p&gt;This unit introduces students to the fundamental skills required for effective communication, clinical practice, and professional development in nursing. Students develop essential communication and relationship-building skills, with a focus on compassion, therapeutic interaction, and culturally competent care. They also learn to adapt communication for specific client groups and begin building confidence in interprofessional communication.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt;Core clinical skills are introduced, including infection control, moving and handling, basic life support, first aid, and initial patient assessment. These are reinforced through functional and mental assessment workshops that cover key activities of daily living. Students apply their communication and assessment skills in a holistic, person-centred way.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt;Students are supported to develop safe and effective medicines management practices using virtual learning tools, addressing legal, professional, and practical aspects of drug administration. Furthermore, they will complete e-Learning for Health modules to consolidate knowledge in areas such as safeguarding, infection control, and patient safety.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt;They will also participate in a neighbourhood study, a field study designed to help students better understand the needs of communities in Greater Manchester, assessing the social determinants of health, community resources, and local populations.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt;Throughout the unit, there is a strong emphasis on personal wellbeing and safety, including stress management, mindfulness, and de-escalation techniques, preparing students for the demands of clinical practice.&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</Content>
