The main aims are:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;	&lt;li&gt;		To further understanding of mechanisms underlying corneal disease processes and how this understanding can&amp;nbsp; provide a rational basis for treatments.&lt;/li&gt;	&lt;li&gt;		To learn how to critically evaluate research papers&lt;/li&gt;	&lt;li&gt;		To develop skills in oral presentation&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;</Content>

    <Content>&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Students should be able to:&amp;nbsp;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Understand how the corneas structure provides transparency and how disease alters this structure causing loss of transparency.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Understand&amp;nbsp; how the immune system plays a role in the success of corneal transplantation but may also contributes to corneal autoimmune diseases&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Be well informed on the best treatment for corneal diseases taking in to consideration corneal imaging, ocular and systemic symptoms and environmental factors.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Have a good understanding of current and future treatments for corneal disease.&lt;/p&gt;</Content>
