We will focus  on the measures required at global and national level to prevent future epidemics and pandemics and discuss why some diseases remain endemic. We will focus  throughout on the management, surveillance and control measures nationally and internationally to keep the global population safe including the role of WHO and other organisations.  This unit will explore the basic principals of outbreak prevention including the management of epidemics and pandemics.
